INTRODUCTION
The Faculty of Architecture (FA) welcomes students from abroad to enjoy a part of their degree studies in Brno within the short-term study programme. It is designed for exchange students coming to study at the FA for a period of up to 12 months within certain mobility programmes (Erasmus+, CEEPUS, Aktion, DAAD, Visegrad Fund, etc.); their study stay is based on an agreement between universities or they can be accepted as “freemovers”.The academic year in Brno is divided in two semesters. Each semester, the FA hosts about 35 exchange students from both European and non-European countries.

Erasmus+ and other EU programmes
Erasmus+ programme is a one- to two-semester programme for students from EU countries, non-EU countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, Turkey, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). For full list of Erasmus+ partner countries see following link: https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/about_en#tab-1-1. Erasmus+ programme is offered on the basis of bilateral agreements between a foreign university and a particular faculty/department at Brno University of Technology (BUT). A student can participate in an Erasmus+ programme only if his/her university has signed a bilateral agreement with BUT. The minimum length of an Erasmus programme is 3 months, the maximum length being 12 months.
Conditions of participation in Erasmus+ programme
Students who want to participate in an Erasmus+ programme have to:
- be at least in the 2nd year of a Bachelor's programme or pursuing Master's or Doctoral studies in any form – full-time, combined or part-time.
- be a citizen of any of the EU countries, EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) or a candidate country. An applicant can also be a citizen of a different country studying in any of the above-mentioned countries
How To Apply
Step 1 - Nomination
Short-term students from partner universities have to be officially nominated for the exchange.
By 30 April for winter semester or full academic year
By 15 October for summer semester
The mobility coordinator at the partner university is expected to inform us about the name, surname, study programme, year of studies and contact e-mail of the nominated student via e-mail sent to havlovad@vut.cz .
Step 2 - E-Application
Complete the E-application
by 31 May for winter semester or full academic year
by 15 November for summer semester

Step 3 - Requested Documents
Deliver all the requested documents
by 15 June for winter semester or full academic year (for visa students the deadline is on 15 May)
by 30 November for summer semester (for visa students the deadline is on 31 October)
Once the learning agreement has been approved the student must download the Learning Agreement from the E-application, sign the form and have it signed and stamped by the home school coordinator. Online Learning Agreement (OLA) is also acceptable on condition that the courses were approved in the E-application.
Finally, they have to send them, together with the other requested documents mentioned below, to
havlovad@vut.cz .
The list of requested documents:
- Application form (E-application protocol including a motivation statement)
- Learning Agreement (printed from the BUT E-application and delivered by e-mail or OLA)
- Transcript of records (uploaded in the E-application)
- Portfolio (uploaded in the E-application)
- B2 English certificate (upoloaded in the E-application)
The documents are to be named in the following way: SURNAME_first name_name-of-the-document
Step 4 - Accommodation
Arrange your accommodation simultaneously with submission of the application.
Students can apply for accommodation in BUT dormitories by completing the on-line Request for Accommodation. Students who have to apply for a visa are strongly advised to arrange their accommodation well in advance, as confirmation of accommodation is an integral part of their visa application procedure.
