The newly opened department focuses on deepening interdisciplinary co-operation between architects and both artistic fields and the humanities and technical fields at Brno University of Technology, other institutions in the Czech Republic and international partner organisations. It poses questions and seeks new paths of architectural education. It is open to the opinions of young and beginner architects who are just beginning to seek their path to the academic world alongside their successful professional practice. The unit is characterised by continual renewal. It sees experiment as an attempt that must be continually verified, while simultaneously extending knowledge in the field of architecture. Teaching places great demands both on lecturers and on an active approach from students. Experimentation gives all parties involved the chance of influencing conditions, defining new rules and shaping boundaries. It is a continually developing organism open to a wide range of trends in architectural creation.
