Vector of Poverty: Accompanying programme
The Opening of the Exhibition Vector of Poverty Raises Key Questions About Architecture and Social Inequality – the Exhibition is Accompanied by a Special Program.
On Tuesday, March 18, a ceremonial opening of the Vector of Poverty exhibition took place at the House of the Lords of Kunštát. The exhibition explores various aspects of poverty, inclusion, and ways in which this highly topical social issue can be articulated within the field of architecture. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Faculty of Architecture at Brno University of Technology and the Brno House of Arts, showcasing the results of a three-semester project by students from several studios. The curator of the project is Rostislav Koryčánek.

The theme of poverty is addressed from multiple perspectives – from the lack of affordable housing and community- and inclusion-oriented approaches to broader social, economic, and ecological contexts. The exhibition also highlights how architecture can help address social issues or, conversely, exacerbate their impact. The featured projects and concepts focus on shared and affordable housing, the regeneration of neglected areas, and support for people experiencing homelessness.
The exhibition runs until May 25, 2025, and alongside the main showcase, a diverse accompanying program will expand the exhibition’s themes into public space and discussion.
