MOHRF reflects both society and personality
Gallery 45,000 l: A volume for engaged architecture has been testing the possibilities and limits of interaction with passers-by for a year, exploring the limits of exhibiting architectural themes and putting them in the context of the city and place. The next installation will be presented on Thursday, May 25 at 18:00 by the Austrian GANG ATELIER, composed of Patrick Pazdzior and Dennis Stratmann. The gallery showcase will be transformed into an interactive site-specific work called MOHRF (Multitude of Highly Reflective Faces). Using the layering of reflective materials and lighting, it will offer passers-by a new experience of passing through the passages.
The installation reflects on the goals of each of us. Is a career, art, raising children, saving the planet, living sustainably, … important to us? Is not it too little? We think "out of the box"! But wait, what if we stand outside the box and start looking inside?
The flashy MOHRF installation can offer several free associations: a tribute to the success represented by the buildings of the financial sector with their reflective glazing, an experiment on the basic physical principles of reflection, light and the functioning of our visual perception. Last but not least, it can resemble a smartphone screen. When the light is on, we see "in", when it is off, we only see the reflection. In the case of a display case, the screen doesn't show much content, but it still shows enough. Different lighting conditions and situations during the day offer new positions for the installation, as well as the interaction of visitors who capture the installation and reproduce images with their phones. What kind of reflection do you see?
