Vernissage - Prayer in the Landscape
We invite you to the opening of the workshop Workshop - Prayer in the Landscape. The event will take place in the Church of St. Jiří in the defunct village of Pelhřimovy from 18:00
For the fourth time, the students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Brno University of Technology visited Osoblažský Pelhřimov, so that we can turn student proposals into reality with our own hands on the site of the defunct village. Last year, we symbolically revived the remains of the original buildings with stylized shelters. Throughout the year, visitors could thus spend the night in several places in the countryside in the middle of a vanished village.
About the exhibition:
This year's theme of the student summer school was Prayer in the Landscape. On the side of the civilizing movement, the students were thus given space in their proposals to reflect individual spirituality and life attitudes, which they subsequently transformed into a concrete realization. The objects in the landscape are thus an expression of the spirituality and spiritual values ??of the coming generation.
”Current society deals with a number of global issues, from climate change, the coronavirus pandemic to war conflicts and their consequences. These topics affect each of us to varying degrees. Man naturally seeks hope and also silence or inner harmony in returning to nature or his inner faith," explains one of the lecturers of the workshop, architect Tomáš Madro.
The resulting objects, symbolically connected by a restored road to the contemporary fragment of the Stations of the Cross, can be visited by visitors to Osoblaž Pelhřimov from the beginning of the holidays throughout the year.
Traditional workshop Workshop 2022 - Prayer in the landscape took place from 6/26 to 7/1/2022 at the site of the defunct village of Pelhřimovy with the support of the BUT Faculty of Architecture and in cooperation with the Movement DUHA Jeseníky and with the municipality of Slezské Rudoltice.
